I held paint brushes, palette, cray-pas, canvass and acrylic paint tubes when I was 8 years old. I thought I was gonna be the next Van Gogh or Freida. Until I saw that big shiny mirror with drawers, in my mom's room with all those colorful powder, sleek sticks, embellished compacts and bushy, bright colored brushes. Next thing I know, I didn't want to be a painter. I held a powder brush, blush brush, eyeshadow brush, and all the different brushes in that leather casing...and it felt as if it was but natural and so light. I knew, I wanted to be a makeup artist. I enrolled in a photography course a little over a year ago, to hone my artistic mood but something just doesnt fit. During one photoshoot, I went backstage and mingled with the models and makeup artists and saw how lively and exciting being behind the spotlight was. You get to be the master of your own craft. So, I finally decided to pickup my makeup brush and leave the photography to my better half, who is in fact, a professional photographer already.

So, here I am. A corporate junkie by profession and a freelance makeup artist on weekends (or on assignment basis :)

I really believe that BEAUTY comes from many things, and makeup is there to help you feel prettier and give you the confidence to strut your amazing self down the street.

As long as you wear a BIG smile on your face and attempt to laugh as much as possible, I'm sure you will get that NATURAL GLOW :) Learning to find humor in life and laugh is half the battle. It's the only beauty secret I truly believe in. No amount of shimmer powder can ever fix a sad face. Believe me, I've tried.

XOXO,

The Smoky Blue Palette
