Brazilian Beauty: Tatiana Perez

 April 8, 2012

Think Adriana Lima-- dark hair and eyes and gorgeous bronze, sun-kissed skin tone. Brazilian beauty is every woman's dream. Women in Brazil make their health and beauty a priority (and yes, I mean PRIORITY), making their nation composed with some of this world's most gorgeous women.

Meet my model for my very first blog post--Tatiana Perez, or "Tati" as her close friends endearingly call her.

She's done a couple of photo shoots with my better-half in the past, but this time--I was tasked to be the MUA for this casual, comfy-at-home beauty and portraiture fun shoot.

Since she's Brazilian (and well, it's obvious that BEAUTY runs in their veins), I decided to do a light make-up on her to show off her natural beauty.

To recreate the look, here's the products I've used:

For her foundation, I used RIMMEL STAY MATTE SHINE-CONTROL LIQUID FOUNDATION. It creates a flawless matte coverage and it has a long-lasting shine control, so you won't worry about looking greasy under the heat of the sun. It's also fragrance-free, oil-free and talc-free.

To create a smooth finish, I used the RIMMEL STAY MATTE PRESSED POWDER to minimize the appearance of pores and and give her skin a flawless matte finish.

I highlighted her cheekbones with an almost-natural looking blush, MAC SHEERTONE SHIMMER BLUSH in FLIRT & TEASE. It's a plummy rose color with fine gold shimmer. I just love how this blush just brightens up a face in a really natural way. Perfect for all skin complexions.
To create further illusion of prominent cheekbones, I used a little of MAX FACTOR BRONZING POWDER in 01 Golden.  It's amazing how this bronzer just suddenly makes your cheekbones "pop" out of nowhere! Its sheer, subtle and sheeny sun-kissed finish sets off every make-up look, and Tati, being Brazilian--really made her beauty just standout.

For her eyes, I primed it with URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION IN NATURAL. It is the "Ultimate Eye Primer in the Beauty Industry" --according to makeup professionals and artists alike. I agree. This is applied before the eyeshadow to make the colors more vibrant and crease-free PLUS, it makes the colors stay for up to 24 hours! I've used several primers in the past, but ever since I got introduced to this by Eric Jimenez himself--I instantly fell inlove with it. Been using this for 2 years now and I am very happy and satisfied with the results ALL THE TIME. ^_*
...and the superstar of this look is my MAX FACTOR COLOUR PERFECTION DUO EYESHADOW in 455 Sparkling Sirius. The duo color works really well together and application is such a breeze, as the texture is extremely easy to blend and has a no crease formulation. I applied it in a smoky effect and blended the two colors well, then added a hint of charcoal black eyeshadow from Max Factor as well.

And what is a smoky eye effect without a really amazing mascara? It's like the "life of the party". I decided to use my RIMMEL SEXY CURVES MASCARA in 1945 Black. It gives your lashes all the curves in the right places. Gives you fuller figured lashes--FABULOUSLY fuller lashes (sexy, smoky eyes + fuller lashes = OVERFLOWING MOJO :p)

To emphasize her eyes, I used a RIMMEL SOFT KOHL KAJAL EYE LINER in 1806 Jet Black. For those who are not familiar with this product, KOHL, otherwise also known as KAJAL, is an ancient eye cosmetic. It was made by grinding Galena (Lead Sulfide) and other ingredients and was widely used to darken eyelids and mascara for the eyelashes. Nowadays, Kohl is being used as substitute for eyeliner pencils or to accentuate on liners and is a favorite of mine, especially because Rimmel's formulation is so easy to smudge and gives you a soft, smudge line that creates a smoky effect on the eyes.

And finally, for her lips--I used MAC Myth Lipstick. A favorite for nude lips look. It has a pale, flesh-toned slightly pink finish; gives the lips incredible full coverage. Added MAX FACTOR VIBRANT CURVE EFFECT LIP GLOSS IN 05 Bubbly, to add a little shimmer and shine to her lips.

Here's the product of the makeup & photo shoot:

A real stunner she is. Looking forward to do another shoot with her soon :)
